i think that wild life is being affected really strong and all sea animals and fisherman are going through the imaginable . Its really sad to see animals washing up on shore all gunked up. over 50,000 gallons of slick is being dumped into the sea, per day!. Imagine what the gulf of mexico is gonna look if we let this continue till august? Just think how disgusting and dead everything is gonna look. What truly amazes me is how something so serious can be left untouched for this long and till this very second still spewing toxic waste into our oceans. I know people are trying to find solutions to end this nightmare but the scariest thing is that this isn't a joke and our clean up technology is way back behind. President Obama is trying to solve this problem but the man is only human and can only do so much. i hope they find a solution and fast because time is running out .
On april 20th the explosion on a BP contractors drilling platform in the gulf coast caused an oil spill that has produced a huge amount of spilled oil day by day. The incident caused a debate over the pros and cons of offshore drilling many critics are saying that the federal goverment didnt respond quickly enough to "obama's katrina" while others are wondering were the "drill baby drill" republicans are now? Why does it seem like there hiding when they should step up and take the consequenses and try to do something fast, time is running and the deaths are increasing daily. All this is killing the wild life!!! this is definately the worst and largest nation wide history disaster.
1.5 to 2.5 million gallons of oil has been spilled up to 50%more than previous estimate. All this is affecting all the creatures that live out in the sea. There was once an ocean of wonders full of life, colors and if the oils keep winning the battle all the wonders will be destroyed. Altough animals cant speek like humans, they are crying out for help simply trying to survive this slow death. All this is bringing death and taking advantage of humans ridiculous mistakes!, Lousianas state bird is the Brown Pelican it was nearly wiped out by pesticides in the 1950's and 1960's from the endangered spicies list in november. Now there stuck in this mess ! and they cant do a single thing about it. People with families are now in need all the workers that lost their job are left with nothing. I hope people will stop arguing now and all work together to find a solution ASAP. The futures in our hands and we should be trying to help it all at once not making it worse.

Learning and researching about this oil spill in the gulf of Mexico has been disturbing. Tons of oil has affected our ocean and I feel like it won’t be soon that this oil leak will stop. I read an article called ““top kill” procedure fails to halt gulf oil spill” There was 2 attempts taken place to stop this oil leak but have failed. Then when president Obama had talked about it this afternoon, he discussed having put together a team of scientist to find a way to stop the leak in the gulf coast. My thoughts are 2?? Why not more, why haven’t there been more attempts to stop this? The only good news I have heard, is an oil spill cleanup system which is great! But if this leak does not stop then when will we ever get our ocean clean?
Also it seems to me that there has been a line drawn between President Obama’s plan to end this oil leak and BP’s plan to end it too. Why don’t they come together and figure a plan out which can be planned well. To me everyone has just been pointing fingers on who should be responsible on taking action, then not taking action there self. Yes we do know BP has tons of money and there one to blame for this disaster but we need others to step up and help. The oceans wildlife has been destroyed and may never be the same again. Many people’s business and jobs have been lost and now will struggle, we need to work together and find a solution.
The oil spill that is taking place in the Gulf right now is going to have a tremendous effect on both politics and the economy for years to come. If Obama doesnt soon find a solution to the Gulf oil spill he could be looking at the end of his reign as President because it will not be long before all of this mounts up on his plate and he cant make a decision with out it impacting one of the nations problems. On April 20th a sudden and disastrous event took place, an explosion on BP contractors drilling platform in the gulf of Mexico caused a spill that has leaked more and more oil to this very day. The environment is being drastically affected by the terrible oil spill. According to S.F. Heron, marine life and wildlife "can be contaminated in a number of way, through poison by ingestion, destruction of habitat and direct contact with oil". This can lead to the animals becoming very ill and dying. When a fish "ingests the oil suspended in the water through their gills", it makes it affects their ability to reproduce, which can later lead to extinction. Extinction will lead to loss of wildlife, food, and jobs for many. These poor animals are living in confusion down there. The ocean use to reflect the sunlight down to the bottom of the ocean, now all they see is darkness.
Many people in charge are doing a terrible job at taking control over the problems that they have created. For some reason BP can not figure out a way to stop what is currently taking place and instead of standing up and taking responsibility, they are sitting there frantically pointing fingers at the next person to come along. Lines seem to have been drawn with BP and President Obama instead of coming together as one to try and work out this HUGE problem. Unless people stop pointing fingers and start working together we are going to get nowhere. This could also completely mess up Obama's reputation as president. If people don't see him step up and take control of the entire situation happening right now, they aren't going to want to re-elect him next term. People already look down on him because something as stupid as his skin color. A problem like this is only going to make things worse.

This oil spill has caused, many people to lose their jobs, and also caused many of the wildlife to die and/or get stuck in the oil spill. Apparently, this isn’t the first time, that problems, with BP have occurred, apparently, “In 2005, a massive explosion rocked BP’s Texas City refinery, after a blow down drum overfilled with liquid hydrocarbons. The resulting inferno killed 15 people and wounded more than 170.” (Walsh, 2010) the only difference, is that 11 people were killed, and 17 were injured this time. Currently many of the wildlife have died, for example the Brown Pelicans, which just a couple of months ago, were taken out of the endangered list, and currently are victims, in this oil spill. Economically, this oil spill has caused, many of the people to lose their jobs, and companies.
This incident, has also caused people to question, the government, and wonder why President Barrack Obama, isn’t doing something about this right away? In Obama’s Presidential Address to the Nation, on Tuesday, he told the people, that BP will be paying for this incident, that there was a 90% chance of the oil spill would be cleaned out by the end of the summer. Currently politically, if this oil spill is not cleaned out, and keeps killing the wildlife, and having fishing and Shrimping businesses to close down, then this will end the chances of a reelection for Obama. Many of the people, seem to believe that Obama, is the “hope” that we been needing, and want him to do millions of things at one time, they want him to get us out of the recession, to stop the war in Iraq, to give people’s jobs back, to stop the oil spill, and much more. Yes, he is the President, but he’s only one person, and he just can’t fix all of these problems, in one day, this stuff will take time, to get fixed.
Gulf Coast Oil Spill
As of April 20th, 2010 the Deepwater Horizon wellhead has been spewing hundreds of thousands of gallons of oil every single day. This horrible disaster is already being labeled as the worst disaster this country has ever seen. Both the economic and political implications are tremendous and very hard to contain. As stated in a news analysis by John M. Broder and Tom Zeller Jr., “… 1000 miles of irreplaceable wetlands and beaches (could be) at risk, fisheries damaged for seasons, fragile species wiped out, and a region/industry economically crippled for years.” They also informed us that $1.6 billion of annual economic activity and services could be at risk. On top of all of this the residents of the coast region have lost their jobs and their ways of life; BP, however, believes that they can fix this with a mere check of $5000 which Terry Vargas said he could make in a matter of two days during a good fishing season. Fortunately, however, the federal government has forced to BP to accept a $20 billion Escrow fund to pay for the damages. Despite this the damage has been done and things will never be the same especially for the affected animals.
Politically, every single person is turning to President Obama and criticizing him as if it were his fault. Many say that he is being to calm about this entire situation, but he has actually worked feverishly to contain and eventually stop this calamity. Consequently, in an article by Bryan Walsh of Time Magazine, he includes a blame list known as the dirty dozen in which Obama is number 8 for supposedly opening vast new tracts of deep-water drilling. As this catastrophe unfolded we were introduced to the immense corruption that existed within the MMS (Minerals Management Services). President Obama himself, during his oval office address this past Tuesday, basically stated that BP had brownnosed the MMS and that in return BP could do whatever they want, including ignoring the safety regulations required to drill deep underwater. In conclusion, as one of my classmates stated during the class discussion, “… Obama is not Superman” we must stop pointing fingers and take responsibility because it was our demand for cheap oil that caused the underwater drilling in the first place.

Economically, the Oil Spill has basically affected anything it has come in contact to. Animals homes have been destroyed, emphasizing on the Brown Pelican. Although not always brought to attention, I believe that the species that inhabit the water day-to-day have had the largest impact brought upon them. During the explosion that caused the oil spill, 11 workers were killed and 17 were injured. Jobs have been lost for shrimpers (etc.) while some doors could open for the unemployed. It’s a lose-win situation for our economy.
Politically, Obama is being criticized. People know he’s the person with power so they automatically attack him, expecting him to fix the conflict. Also, some people support MMS, BP, etc. Thats where the whole "big oil" theory comes in.

On April 20th, 2010 an explosion caused a BP offshore drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico to disperse, rapidly & vastly, oil into the gulf's water. Killing 11 people on site & injuring others, the specific cause of the explosion has yet not been determined. Recently the oil has managed to reach the shoreline and spread more and more over time. Anger & frustration has overtaken people's emotions due to loss of : jobs, industries, generation's-old companies, and income, they were dependant on. Not only has this oil spill caused chaos amongst the people being affected, but it's rose many political tensions and concerns. Since the day of the rig rupture, the blame-game between BP CEOs and President Obama has been in play. Citizen's are not sure who to focus the responsibility towards, BP for the unsafe and risky models they used on the drilling rig, or Obama for the supposed "lack of response" to the spill.
On his defence, President Obama reported in his speech, on June 15th, the outlined steps that would be put in place to aid local businesses that were drastically affected by the oil spill and for future damages that may occur. He's also reported that he's deployed 17,000 National Coast Guard men & women to provide service for clean up process of the gulf coast. BP on the other hand, claim they are doing their best to clean up thousands of barrels of oil daily from the ocean and have purchased 32, v20 Costner machine's in hopes that it'll successfully separate the seawater from the dispersed oil. Another huge issue that most fail to see is that, despite the economical and political issues occurring on land, focus isn't placed on the endangered sea life that are being affected. All people and companies affected, are or will be compensated for their losses, but money can't bring back the dead animals or get them off the endangered species list. I believe more should be done to support the lives of the affected human beings/sea creatures, and worry about the financial losses later.

United States experienced a devastating environmental disaster on April 2oth, when a Deepwater Horizon rig exploded. This resulted into having now estimated correctly by scientists from a CNN article, " ...there is oil flowing into the Gulf of Mexico between 35,000 and 60,000 barrels per day." First off, the economic issues concerning this disaster are immense. Gulf residents question how will BP " ...get this done..make this right." ( Walsh, Times article) BP has payed out $80 million in claims, but it is not enough. Money cant buy back the beautiful beaches and wetlands, and the coastal lifestyle that has been destroyed. Unfortunately, the U.S. is so dependent on foreign oil that it forced us to look upon oil in our own country. " Wells dug more than 1,000 ft. below the Gulf's surface now supply a quarter of U.S. oil production, a proportion that will likely rise.
On Obama's defense, he demands BP to be " quick and responsive ". On June 15th, the president addressed the nation on the BP Oil Spill, and was specific when he mentioned, " We will make BP pay for the damage their company has caused." He also informed the nation of another way that is included in the response plan. That an independent third party will be responsible for a fund that helps "compensate the workers and business owners who have been harmed as a result of BP's recklessness." Now another corporation that can be seen as one to blame, was the Minerals Management Service. They failed to meet their standards when it came to regulating safety in these big oil companies. They practiced the wrong "philosophy" by letting corporations run their own rules and regulations when it came to safety. Now that this disaster has struck, people question the outcome and how much it will affect Obama's presidency. When instead, the people of the United States should question themselves, and how THEY, us will be prepared for future disasters like this one. Just like previous disasters before, that have shattered the lives of many people, we should be quick to find a solution that will help us get through with is step by step.

There are many economical and political implications resulting from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. First of all, the leak is a very large amount and it can have a severe negative impact Gulf Coast region. There is an estimated seventy thousand barrels of oil that are being leaked every day into the ocean. That is very hazardous for the region itself and the creatures that dwell in its habitat. Another problem that is going to be created by this large oil spill is that people may have to pay more for the products that are made with oil, or products that rely on oil to operate. One very large issue that is to be brought up as a concern is that many of the fisherman and businesses along the Mexican Gulf Coast are and will be suffering quite heavily from this disaster. They have already lost their jobs and lifestyle. When Obama took office, America was in a pretty bad shape, considering the recession, war, and unemployment rate. This oil spill really hasn’t helped him with getting people work, instead, it has backfired.
Yesterday, President Barrack Obama addressed the nation upon this matter. He discussed how the oil spill is affecting the country, and that his administration is doing their best to fix the problem. I believe that they are, but I am just one person. What does America believe? This long period of solitude between the Obama administration and the head officials of BP has made the American public wonder about what in the world is going on, and why isn’t a solution to this problem arising. This can be very dangerous for President Obama because he may lose some supporters that he had. If this crisis isn’t handled in the timeline that the President has given it, people might even turn against him. He can have a tough time getting re-elected. This oil spill is considered to be “Obama’s Katrina”. Is he going make sure that it gets fixed before America turns against him… let’s hope so.

There are many aspects that need to be examined when talking about the disastrous BP oil spill in the Gulf Coast, two of the most important aspects are the economical and political effects. The implications of this human error caused catastrophe has implications that will last and affect our country for many years to come.
The economics of this tragedy are shown everyday on the news. People living on the coast are losing their livelihoods and have to find other methods to provide for their families. Although BP is paying the residents of the area and the local government’s reparations, their efforts still do not compensate for all they have lost. In the article “Spreading Stain” Walsh quotes a local fisherman saying how he received 5,000 dollars from BP which he said he could make in a matter of two days; this exemplifies how much more needs to be done about the situation in order to fully fix it. I read another article from ABC News stating that the oil spill wouldn’t affect our national economy. The article said Louisiana, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi only make up one percent of the national GDP and national employment. Although this is stated by a reliable source, I can’t say I agree. I believe this oil spill will later on have a snowball effect on our national economy.
The politics involved in the oil spill are quite complex and slightly hard to understand. There is plenty of blame to go around, because we all played a role in the misfortune. The government however was one group who could have prevented such a thing. The organization MMS is a government run institute, however it is very corrupt and never really did its job of regulating safety measures and prevention technologies of large oil companies. The employees of MMS accepted gifts and had sexual relations with representatives from the companies they were supposed to be regulating and keeping track of. Its not just MMS that had political implications in this situation, I believe the republicans involve themselves too greatly with lobbyist from these oil companies. The fact of the matter it economically and politically comes down to how our government handles our countries business: laissez-fair. If the government had been more involved in the big oil companies business and made sure they weren’t cutting corners and doing what they were supposed to we wouldn’t have had this problem in the first place. I’m not saying we should switch to communism or anything like that I’m just saying our government should be more involved in things that have potential dangers such as oil spills. Our country prides itself on its freedom, its freedom of the company to run their business the way that wanted was part of the cause that had the effect of one of the worst disasters our country has ever experienced.

In what i think about the oil spill is very outrages because i rely think its a big set up to take Obama out of presidency i know it may not sound smart but that is my opinion. The reason i think that is because of all the facts that BP had before anything had happen to the hole they made. BP had all the time in the world to prevent the situation that has occurred. I also think that this will make Obama or break him in the next election run.
The other thing that i have to say about the hole oil spill in the Gulf is that it has caused so much dameg that i think BP should take crinamal charges for ruining so many peoples life and as somebody stated in class that yes it made up jobs but look at all the jobs that where lost in some stupid complication that BP made just so they can save some money. The BP oil spill could have easily been prevented obviously, but due to the lack of responsibility and shortcuts to make a simple dollar more, the people in charge of the safety and precautions to prevent disasters like this have failed at their only job. It is all a matter of time. Weather it was the time that was afraid to be wasted in order to put in the safety, or the time that has gone by with no effective solution. Everyone is so scared to step foward due to previous failures that they sit back and point fingers as if that is going to fix our problem. Criticizing our president will not solve the problem he is obviously doing everything in his power when the rest of our government (MMS) failed at their task. Not only does Obama have to whip people into shape, including BP by hiring our own regulator to watch over the company financially, but he has had to babysit and appoint people to a task. That should not be the president’s job; he is busy dealing with the tons of other things we demand at the same time as all of this. This was truly an eye opener, for Obama as well, as he too wanted to know what exactly happened before he spoke to the CEO of BP, our own MMS has messed up, and as ashamed as we all should be, there is no time to be temperate, it is time to DO something.
Weather BP is coming up with a new device to clean up, or relying on a product that was available years ago; it is time to get some of the best people in our nation to come together and do something about it. If the well is not plugged soon, gas prices are only getting higher, animals are getting dirtier, and anxious citizens are losing hope. Just as anything else, this will come to an end, but let’s not compare this to a Katrina, something that truly harmed the lives of thousands, this oil spill has harmed few lives and few animals, let’s just stop it before it DOES directly affect our country’s people. For now, let’s stop it while it’s in the water and not our land.

From an economical point of view, the BP oil spill has the potential to run the nation into ruin. If action is not taken soon to cap the leak and speed up the clean up process, this could spell out huge trouble for the nation’s economy. On the other hand, if action is taken and the mess is cleaned up, then the jobs created and any technology endorsed during the crisis (such as Kevin Costner’s creation) will create a small boom of jobs in manufacturing these new machines. It is inevitable that jobs will be lost by some to be replaced by compensation from BP, as is it inevitable that jobs will be created for those previously unemployed. All in all, it depends which side of the spectrum each person stands on that will determine whether this accident is an economic disaster or blessing.
As for the political standpoint, I strongly believe that this has been a greatly eye-opening event for people of all sorts. For any oil entrepreneurs, BP is the example of why big oil companies should not cut corners when it comes to safety. Granted, only 11 human workers died, but this accident, none the less, has had and will continue to have a great impact on the economy and ecology of the gulf and possibly the entire nation. For residents of Gulf States, this event puts in perspective the incredibly slow responses of the federal government to our people in need. As we near 2 months in this mess, our president makes his very first address for the sole purpose of discussing the spill. For all consumers of oil, this event exemplifies the consequences of the incredible demand of large amounts of oil at low prices. It also brings up the question of alternate forms of fueling vehicles, as paying for safety measures will undoubtedly raise prices on petroleum, and nobody really can say that they are willing to pay extra for the safety of oil riggers. As for our president, the pressure is on, for nearly the entire world is watching him in order to evaluate his response to this accident. This is Barack Obama’s defining moment in his presidency and he must come through with an efficient, satisfactory solution before it is too late for the people of the gulf coast, as well as for his critics.

After 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, a recession and numerous attempts by terrorists to attack the United States, America’s hopes that things were finally changing for the better were smashed on April 20, 2010, when an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico exploded, causing a major oil spill. Along with the lives of 11 workers, this oil spill has taken the lifestyles of several people, the homes of several wildlife creatures, and caused several economical problems. One of the biggest economical problems brought about by the oil spill is the amount of damage it could bring to the local economy. The oil spill has threatened some of the top industries in the Gulf States, including the fishing industry and the tourist industry. According to CNN, several fishermen have lost their jobs due to the fact that “The government has already closed over 25% of federal waters for fishing activities…” (Steve Hargreaves, CNN). Also, the Gulf States are suffering a terrible blow in their tourist industry due to the fact that people are driven away because of the oil spreading to the beaches and marshes. “In Florida, state tourism officials recently told CNN they're getting cancellations as far as three months out” (Steve Hargreaves, CNN). All in all, the long term economic effects of this oil spill are starting to creep in on the Gulf States and are beginning to cause both money and job loss.
Along with the various economic problems that have been caused by the oil spill, this disaster is also affecting our nation in a political way. Several people are feeling helpless and so, they run to the only person they think should have the power to solve the problem; President Barack Obama. People are busy pointing fingers, and a lot of the blame is landing on Obama. Americans are asking Why it’s taking so long and Why we don’t have the technology to stop the spill. Those already against President Obama are taking this as an opportunity to further criticize Obama. Helplessness is causing anger, which can be clearly seen in people such as James Carville, who furiously exclaimed in an abc7 interview, “These people are crying, they're begging for something down here, and he just looks like he's not involved in this! Man, you got to get down here and take control of this. Put somebody in charge of this thing and get this thing moving. We're about to die down here!” (James Carville). Although a president’s approval rating should go up during a disaster, Obama’s is actually staying still and is expected to drop. Politically, the BP Oil Spill is a harsh blow to Barack Obama because, in times of fear, people expect their president to find a solution easily and quickly.

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has been countnuing till this day making it 58 days. On the CNN clip thier was an estimante of 600,000 barels or oil being spilled in the gulf. Bp as well as MMS who are one of the main ones who caused this situation to go this far without a real solution for years. Obama in his speech adressed that BP will be paying for the damages cused by thier unresposable action which it an estemants of 80,ooo,ooo. Not only will Bp get what the come a them for the un profesional work they have been showing for year but als MMs who allow this to countine by not enforcing thier part in making sure BP follow all the safety regulations. Not only soes this effect those people who had died in the explosin but those living in the surrounding for sure the fishing bussness was one of the mager bussness empacted by this even those by some articles it is possiable that the oil didnt realy reach the oysters. which has also bought species endangerment by the oil spill especally the fishes who are moving to other places contaminated. It is going to take a long time even after the clean up is finshed to recovery the enviorment balance back to the gulf.
This is another disater just like the Katrina where in the process of clean up the mess it brought out many new jobs which in this time it is a good thing for many people need one. at the same time tourism has dropped a big percent accourding to the article"the social and economic impact of the gulf oil spill". now its a Eye opener when it come up to how much we will be willing to loose or gamble in order to recive oil. i think ways of getting enery from other beside oil will be more open mined because no one wants this to occur again the future or to realy to much on it. which this all bring to Obamas rick of being re-elected again becasue everyone who voted for him expected him to solve everthing in a snap of a fingure even though how more it really is. waiting for 57 days to actually planing a way of taking action was a big let down. for many people who saw a amitlaty responed towards the Hatii earthquake not so long agao, it mad me question what is more important to the goverment other countries or thier own. if obama is able to fix this huge mess both economical and enviormental he will gain back those that lost faith in his presidental postion but other wise i dont see him being re elected.
The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has affected the ocean and many animals too. In my article that I have some scientist said that the true leak rate could be as high as 70,000 barrels per day. 11 people were killed in this explosion that started this entire oil spill many others were injured. President Obama said that BP will pay for everything, and I agree with him. There are 3 things that Obama wants to do, 1 the clean up, 2 the recovery and the respiration of the Gulf Coast. Many people made there living by the water, many fishermen made their living in the water. Obama wants BP to set a fund that they can’t control, this fund will be to compensate the workers and business owners. 3 is that they make sure nothing like this happens again, well not that bad as this oil spill. -Reggie P.
The Gulf of Mexico has been affected greatly by the oil spill on April 20, 2010 by the carelessness of British oil gaint BP and the oil that spilled and is continuing to pour into the coast is affecting the economical and political situation of America but there has been some implications shown in these topics.
This oil spill has economically affected America because of various reasons that I believe that oil has on America. Today June 16, 2010 that BP has promised $20 million in escrow to the people
who has been damaged by the oil spill. This is a great amount of money but this company makes around 60 million dollars a day, also when they were not willing to make the best cap just inorder to save money. Plus, (MMS) Minerals Management Service did not regulate the oil companies at their full potential. This oil spill has created loss of jobs, ruined a habitat, and caused economic problems. My question is why is BP and also MMS not been looked into more as bein corrupted?
This goes more into the subject of politics. So much of the progress has not been able to happen since of the problems circulating in politics. The oil spill has created a wide opening experince, it shows the corruption of big busniess and how it truly affects politics. This oil spill has been know has "Obamas Katrina" and that it may end the re-election of Obama, during his adress he mentioned the problems of the big oil companies. And the reason that Obama has been going soft on the company in order to not ruin the relationship between them. As a country we should come together in order to save the habitat and the everyday lives of people, and stop trying to point more fingers, and use the money BP promised to our advantage.

The gulf coast oil spill in the gulf coast really caught the attention of many Americans. We are now on the 58th day and we are yet to see any actions to clean up the mess. All the people have really heard is a bunch of nonsense on behalf of BP on how they will fix the problem. I believe what is causing so much commotion is that this disaster is happening during an economic recession and people are afraid gas prices might sky rocket like in past years. Many people are researching the problem and are finding out that this is not the first time BP faces problems like this. In the article “The Spreading Stain” by Bryan Walsh, the author mentions that last October BP was fined a record $87.4 million for more than 700 safety violations at the Texas City refinery. This point is of great concern to me because knowing that agencies like OSHA and MMS, which are operated by the federal government, aren’t doing enough to impose safety measure for good. This angers me because it shows how much oil influences our government and how much the government is letting companies like BP and Chevron get away with.
Many critics are calling this disaster “Obama’s Katrina” and the deciding factor of whether he gets reelected for a second term. I think this won’t be the only deciding factor that accounts for that but how the economy is doing at that point in time. The recession has hit people hard that they just want to see any kind of improvement. They want to regain confidence in the government. It is true that Obama has addressed many problems he has set out to fix such as the Health Plan, the Iraq War, and immigration. The truth is he hasn’t really got anyone of those things fixed to say he has impacted the nation for the good of it. Like I heard Mr. Anderson say once,”The first time people vote with their heart. The second time they vote with their wallet.”

There are so many political issues by far that has cause a great major affect of Texas and other countries. For example President Obama and many other members of the council of democratic or republican part will come and have a talk with the members of the B.P.. Where as the have been burned because of this fault of when this oil spill have cost great damaged not only to the economy also the political and also the environment. And now there is this one solution were president Obama is going to make B.P. pay for all of the damages and famine that is going on right now. And all of the oil is spilling as a young man said they have may done it on purpose but not thinking of all the after effects. And even though supposedly the govt. say that it is B.P. fault because of the worker/coworker responsible actions the oil spill is caused. And now they are trying to make a solution like grown ups instead of pointing fingers or blaming on people.
And like Rachel Maddow said to when she was interviewing a man about the oil spill and why is the technology of drilling is way into the future and our cleaning supplies is like 30 years in the past. For many reasons the govt does not have not a lot of money or even on planning on spending money .Because as you look into the economy you can see that this is a bad time to spend a lot of money because of how in a big dept this country is in right now. And Obama has many plans to make this problem of the oil spill become stopped and sealed. And then Obama has said that there is many jobs and opportunities to work because of the oil spill. So now Obama is doing all he can to save the economy and this govt. Even though we are expecting so much of him he is doing the best he can to help take can.

Fishermen of the bay area are now taking up other jobs to meet their expenses for, possibly, the next couple of years to come. Tourism is also an economical feature of the Gulf of Mexico’s area that has been attacked by the oil spill. Even though this tragic event is happening, President Obama still insists on tourism as it would help the area. This disaster will also effect how oil and gas prices change. This loss of oil from the spill, which is around 40,000 barrels a day since April 20th, is a horrendous amount that can never be retrieved as it has already been flushed out into the ocean and is pending clean-up, costing a relentless amount of money to do so.
Political effects that the spill would bring about are Obama’s mid-term election and other future elections to come (that involve him as a candidate). People are criticizing him as an overly “calm, cool, and collect” guy and expect to see some anger out of him directed towards BP. Most of them want Obama to find the right “ass to kick” in this situation and have wondered why no progress has been made after 50-some days. Other political implications from this event are the recognition of notable politicians’ question and commentary on how BP has attempted to handle this mess. Louisiana representative, Anh “Joseph” Cao, has told BP that they should commit ritual suicide if given in the proper time era. This is one of the serious and hard-knocking things that BP has possibly ever been told since April 20th.
